The storybook cat block is from the 1960s, the cat scratching the tree is older, possibly 1940s but probably 1950s. Either would make a super cute pillow, framed picture, or the central block of a small doll-size quilt.

So, if you're interested in possibly winning this pair of cute kitty blocks, leave a comment. I'll take entries until Thursday evening and announce a winner on Friday. International shipping can be a problem with some items but I can fit both of these in a standard envelope and mail it first-class international (it may take a while to arrive but it will get there eventually). So, I'm opening this up to everyone, no matter where you live. Yay!
Just a note that I moderate comments, so don't panic if you don't see yours go up right away. And I'm still not getting email notification about comments so have to log in to get them. Not sure what's up with that.

Those are so cute! I love the one with the book!
These are precious - absolutely love them.
Oh, I'd LOVE to win the kitty blocks. I'd even finish them, to go with the Stitchin' Kitty pillow!
I love these kittens! It reminds me of my grandmother who embroidered all of our pillow cases when she was living!
Cat was my first word (yes, even before ma(ma) or da(da)! I love cats and am so thrilled it is a cat giveaway...I do hope I win!
I love kitties! Pick me! pick me! LOL.
Hugs,
Sheri
They're really great. Embroidery is my latest obsession... I hope I win :-)
RE the comments not being emailed: when you go into 'settings' then into 'comments' in Blogger, you need to put an email address in two sections: for 'comment moderation' AND for 'comment notification email'. If you've got that and it's not working, then I'm out of ideas - how frustrating for you :-(
I love vintage patterns ... and your blog. Those stitch tutorials have bailed me out many times!
Gina, thanks for trying to help but that's not it. I've always had them set that way and about a month ago I stopped getting the emails. I was starting to wonder why nobody was commenting (maybe I was getting boring?) and I went in to my dashboard and there were about 20 comments sitting there waiting for me to approve. I just can't figure it out. Maybe I'll try a different email address and see if that works.
I love to embroider! Thanks so much!
What sweet little kittens! Thanks for sharing.
I know Idon't have a chance, cause I never win, but I can't resist! Good Luck to Me! LOL Darling designs and great idea!
Too cute! I love the kitten reading a book. Two of my favorite things!
I love embroidery work and I am working on some candlemats right now. Thanks for sharing your wonderful find. I love your blog...i don't comment often but read always. :)
The kittens are adorable! My wee one would love to have them in her room. Too precious!
I cross-stitch and am learning needlepoint and embroidery these last few months. Kittens and yarn and thread are fun things in my house - my cat, Tatertot, likes to watch me cross-stitch and try to bite the floss when she thinks I'm not looking *heh*
Love the kitties! Congratulations on your blog-aversary!
Please add my name to your kitten drawing. They are so cute.

Oh, what memories. Somewhere in my pile of UFOs is a stamped linen piece from the late 1960s. It has a picture of a cat with a pattern of lazy daisies on it, and the title "I Love My Cat". I never have finished it, now I need to get it out, untangle all the thread that I bolloxed up at age 10, and put it to rights.
Those cats are the cutest. The one reading...well, that is so me. (and my hubby Sean, and my daughter Jessi).
